The Benefits of a Discreet and Elegant Fly Screen

No mosquitoes outside, comfort inside

With the recent acquisition of insect screen manufacturer Storipro, SOPROFEN—a specialist in roller shutters, sun protection, and garage doors—is expanding its product line and now offers a wide range of modern, aesthetically pleasing, and easy-to-install custom insect screens, including those for large widths.

Whether it’s a roll-up screen for windows, a pleated screen door for sliding windows, a hinged screen door, a sliding screen door, or a fixed screen window, a screen is essential for comfort and well-being at home. It allows you to open doors and windows to promote natural ventilation in your home, while at the same time providing protection against insects, rodents, and outdoor pollution.

“Since 2002, Storipro has been manufacturing elegant, sturdy, and custom-made fly screens in the Toulouse region, with an annual production of approximately 15,000 to 20,000 units.  “This acquisition enables us to better position ourselves in this market and demonstrate clear ambitions that align with the growing demand for these types of products,” said Grégory Albert, Market Manager for Solar Protection and Window Products at Soprofen.

A wide variety of models

The product line includes a wide variety of custom-made models for all practical applications, with a broad selection of colors and finishes, including various operating options. The fabric is made of fiberglass, except for the pleated screen doors, which are fitted with high-quality polyester mesh. All models feature a gray PVC coating to withstand the elements and ensure a clear view of the outdoors. The extruded aluminum profiles are available in five standard RAL colors, but can also be ordered in numerous other RAL colors as an option, as well as in four finishes of your choice: matte, glossy, satin, and textured.

Rolhor

The roller screen is installed directly in front of the window and features a discreet design and hidden screws. It is available in various models (cassettes ranging from 48 to 54 mm for windows and from 68 to 96 mm for doors), with a maximum width of 1600 to 3500 mm and a maximum height of 2400 to 2700 mm. Three guide systems are available: guides with brush seals; double guides with cover caps to compensate for unevenness in the masonry; and ZIP guides. Operation is very simple using a chain, a crank handle, or a motor with or without automation (solar-powered or not). Also worth noting is the brake (optional) for slowly raising the mesh as it is rolled up into the housing.

Pleated Screen Door

The pleated screen door is ideal for doors and large window openings. Thanks to a profile thickness of just 29 mm, the pleated screen door fits even in the narrowest spaces. Depending on the model, it features either a zipper guide or a cord guide.  The zipper guide at the bottom, which runs beneath the aluminum threshold, consists of two aluminum profiles that can accommodate a window sill slope of up to 5 degrees. This exclusive feature is designed to prevent the screen from coming off the track during operation. The various models are available for different configurations: 1 side panel with a maximum width of 1800 mm; 2 opposing panels up to 3200 mm; or 2 linked panels up to 3200 mm.

Roll-up, sliding, or fixed screen

The swing door is ideal for high-traffic passageways due to the absence of a threshold. It stays closed thanks to the magnetic latch. It is available as a single or double door. It always opens outward. The side-sliding screen door is available with one or two panels and is designed for large openings, ranging from 400 to 3,000 mm wide and 400 to 2,500 mm high.

The fixed frame is primarily intended for small windows or windows that are difficult to reach, and can be mounted either on the window or on the wall. 

A clear ambition

For the year 2026, SOPROFEN expects to sell approximately 15,000 units, which is nearly double the production volume prior to the acquisition. But after that, the company anticipates selling around 25,000 to 30,000 units, which is easily achievable with the production facilities at the Toulouse site. Grégory Albert: “The site is far from reaching its full capacity. Initially, we will take over the majority of the existing product line. In the coming years, however, we will further develop the products to optimize ease of use and adapt the insect screens to the various countries where we operate; we will also make the automation options more attractive, such as by further developing solar-powered motorizations.”
