2022, the big turnaround
The year 2022 is being looked back on with satisfaction at the Belgian company Harol. For several reasons. First of all, two beautiful prizes were won. And, this year can be seen as the year in which "the big change" was made in the field of sustainability and circularity.
To start with the latter. "We have effectively taken many steps in 2022 to make not only our organization but also our products more sustainable," says marketing manager Isabelle Wintmolders. "For example, we have commissioned our own wind turbine that generates 100% of green electricity. In addition, we installed electric charging stations for our employees. But we also entered the market with even more products linked to solar. In short, the solar range has expanded considerably and we are very proud of that."

Naturally, there is also great satisfaction about winning the awards. For example, the Lux awning won the prestigious Red Dot Award for innovative design. "We were praised by the jury for its minimalist design and maximum comfort," says Isabelle Wintmolders. "The innovative concept of this high-end awning with the exclusive Invisibly Wired arms with steel cables that are no longer visible also received plenty of compliments."
In addition, the company won an important Flemish-Brabant award. Harol is now officially a Climate Ambassador. The election is an initiative of the Environmental Info Point for SMEs (miK), a collaboration of Voka (Chamber of Commerce and the Province of Flemish Brabant) and rewards sustainable companies. The jury report was laudatory: 'With its products, Harol contributes to climate-adaptive and energy-efficient renovations, and thus to a more sustainable world.'
