The new wood

Bamboo is a species of grass and not a species of tree. Therefore, bamboo wood is not wood, but molted grass. Bamboo wood does have the same uses as wood and, like wood, can shrink and swell, but retains its strength. Bamboo has the advantage of growing much faster than trees. Bamboo can grow up to 30 meters tall.

Application

Bamboo wood is used for flooring, tables, chairs, as well as blinds, among other things. Bamboo processing involves making strips of bamboo. The stems can be glued or fiberized; dipped in glue and pressed into a certain shape under pressure.

Appearance

Bamboo has a characteristic appearance like wood. The hardness of bamboo is similar to oak. Processed into planks, it is among the hardest woods. Bamboo naturally hardly expands or shrinks. Bamboo is also sustainable. Bamboo forests remain intact because the roots of the plant set new shoots immediately after felling. The turnover rate is three to four times that of ordinary wood.

Bamboo is an excellent material for horizontal blinds. Blinds made of bamboo with a slat width of 50mm are the most sold variant. Bamboo slats are thinner than other wooden blinds and this gives a specific look. The maximum width of bamboo blinds is about three meters. Slats are available starting at 10 millimeters.

Operation

By default, you can choose either ladder tape or ladder cord operation. The choice determines the final appearance the blinds. It is therefore important to make a well-considered choice. Ladder cords are designed to be as inconspicuous as possible, while ladder bands are allowed to be really present and represent a more luxurious look.

Wood blinds often use lime wood. Bamboo wood is a lot thinner than lime wood, giving the bamboo blind a sleeker look. In addition, the package height with blinds made of bamboo is a lot smaller. Therefore, the weight is also less.
