Easyfairs decided in mid-October to remove both Intirio and TrendZ Belgium from their exhibition calendar. The 2019 edition will thus have been the last. With it, a long trade show tradition disappears. Intirio was first held in 1997, as one of the new trade shows accompanying the then 40-year-old textile fair Textirama. The other two were Sensus(lingerie, swim and legwear) and Dressed(fashion accessories and fabrics).
Easyfairs found after the disappointing last edition of Intirio that the interest in a new edition was too small to organize a full-fledged trade fair. Apart from a small group of high-end fabric editors, other sectors (including awnings) turned out to opt for other events, such as the Incoda(Interieur Collectie Dagen) in the Evenementenhalin Gorinchem, incidentally also a subsidiary of Easyfairs.
After a recent survey, Easyfairs also saw insufficient support for TrendZ Belgium - held for the first time during the past Intirio. Major players in the accessories and decoration industry appeared to prefer competing events outside Belgium, including TrendZ in Gorinchem.
